Leadership Cabarrus Program

*Interested applicants - please note that a class retreat is mandatory.  It will be held Saturday, September 8, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Kannapolis Intimidators Stadium.  Also, attendance at the class reception is strongly recommended.  Date of the reception is Thursday, August 30.

The Leadership Cabarrus program is designed to broaden leadership development.  From September through May, monthly eight-hour sessions are held to provide in-depth coverage of the following topics:

1) History of Cabarrus County

2) Law Enforcement and the Courts

3) Local Government

4) Health and Human Services

5) Economic Development

6) Education and Workforce Development

7) Communications and the Media

8) Economic Impact of Professional Sports

9) Quality of Life

Eligible candidates include mid- to upper-level managers and small business owners who have a demonstrated track record of community involvement PLUS a strong reference.  Deadline to apply is June 29.  Submit application requests to Deborah Carter at dcarter@cabarrus.biz.  

Cost of the nine-month program is $600.  A small number of discounted tuition rates at $400 are available for small businesses (25 employees or less) and non-profits.  First come, first served!  Please make a note at the top of the application's first page that the discount rate is requested .
