Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Driver of the number eight NASCAR Nextel Cup car for DEI and son of the late legendary driver Dale Earnhardt, Sr., Dale Earnhardt, Jr. has established a name for himself as one of the most popular drivers of NASCAR. Earnhardt started winning races early at the Concord Motorsport Park street stock division in 1994 at age 17. He won two Busch series titles in 1998 and 1999. In his first year in NASCAR's top series in 2000, Earnhardt won races at Richmond, Texas, and the all-star race at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Much of the Earnhardt legacy can now be seen on the Dale Trail running from the Convention and Visitor's Bureau in Concord to the DEI offices in Mooresville.
