NEW! The Cabarrus Sustainability Council has voted to present an annual award for sustainability. The award will recognize industry leaders who are solving operational challenges by using innovative and environmentally sustainable practices or creative partnerships. Awards will be given in several categories and a special Environmental Excellence award for Recycling will also be presented. Public Policy

Both houses of Congress have passed the HR 4173, Restoring American Financial Stability Act.
Health care reform has been passed in the form of Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (H.R. 3590) and the Health Care and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act (H.R. 4872). Stay informed about changes and implementation via the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services-maintained website and the Kaiser Family Foundation website.
S. 560, "Employee Free Choice Act", may return in another form during this congressional session. If passed, the legislation would result in process simplification for union organizing. Read more about the legislation and potential impacts.
