Read what some of the 2010 alums had to say about their Leadership Cabarrus experience ...
Rush Rollins, Practical Software Solutions: Attending Leadership Cabarrus opened my eyes to my hometown county in various ways. Since I have lived in Cabarrus County my entire life, my exposure to the county has been great, as well as my knowledge, or so I thought. From the first event to the graduation of Leadership Cabarrus, I seemed to prove my theory wrong.
Leadership Cabarrus opened my eyes to many untapped resources in Cabarrus County, a network of friends, business contacts and colleagues. Thanks to this opportunity, my horizons of the possibilities here in Cabarrus County and the surrounding areas have been expanded.
Terry Brandi, Propst Brothers Distributors: As a newcomer, this was the perfect opportunity to learn about and connect with my new community. The broad spectrum of businesses and services represented within the class membership was as interesting as the companies and facilities that allowed us to come “behind the scenes” each month. Even if you’ve lived in Cabarrus County all your life, you will learn something you did not know about your home town!
Micah Lee, Fifth Third Bank: WOW, what a great experience!!! Even though my mother’s family is from Midland and I have spent most of my life in and around this area, it was amazing to see into the County and understand what makes Cabarrus County great!
I now feel like I am prepared to discuss the County with bank customers and prospects and give them a good understanding of why Cabarrus County is such an integral part of the greater Charlotte community.
Topping my new knowledge of the area are the great friends and business contacts that I now possess because of the participation in this class. I would very highly recommend participation in this course to any and all businesses in Cabarrus County!
Mike Wojciechowski, Cooperative Christian Ministry: Having been fortunate enough to participate in Leadership Cabarrus has made me more aware of and given me a better understanding of the services and opportunities offered to our community. It also gave me a greater appreciation for the folks who serve our community – whether they are working on the incubator farm, fighting fires, or promoting the arts. But more than anything, it gave me the chance to form new friendships with folks I might not have otherwise had the opportunity to meet.
Lori Huie, F&M Bank: Having the opportunity to participate in the leadership program showed me how thankful I am to live in a county that works hard to meet the needs of the people.
Melissa Brown, Bayada Nurses – Cabarrus County Office I had the opportunity to learn things about Cabarrus County that I would not have ever found out if I did not participate in Leadership Cabarrus. It was a wonderful chance to network with a variety of people within the community. Leadership Cabarrus was like a "VIP backstage tour" to Cabarrus County.
