Public Policy

Purpose: To develop and maintain an active relationship with county, state and national officials insuring that business concerns are voiced and addressed.

The Chamber has designated two committees to address public policy issues - Governmental Affairs Committee and Transportation & Land Use Committee.  Both committees maintain good relationships with public and elected officials, and through those relationships, communicate chamber positions on issues that affect the business community.  Issues in economic development, education, environment, healthcare and transportation are discussed and positions taken through creation of an annual Legislative Agenda.   Subcommittees convene as needed to address specific issues that are impacting the community. The committees make recommendations on public policy issues to the Chamber's Board of Directors.

Participation: The committees are open to all Chamber members. Consistent attendance is requested, however, in order to foster continuity in discussions.
