Programs Workforce Development
The Cabarrus Regional Chamber of Commerce supports and encourages the many programs, institutions and organizations that continue to develop strategies for enhancing Workforce Development in our region. We are commited to insuring that Cabarrus County can provide a strong workforce which is comprised of well-trained individuals who possess skills desired by businesses and industries within the region.
An educated, skilled workforce can be the main impetus for bringing a business into a community. In this region, many agencies and organizations specialize in providing that education and training such as the North Carolina University system, Pfeiffer College, Catawba College, Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, The Cabarrus College of Health Sciences, Centralina Workforce, Cabarrus County and Kannapolis City School systems, Junior Achievement, JobLink Career Center and the Cabarrus County 4H.
The Chamber emphasizes two programs in support of Workforce Development. Each month, students and teachers in both school systems are chosen to receive an Impact Through Education Award as a result of their hard work in the classroom. We honor these individuals at the school board meetings. We host the new teachers to Cabarrus County and Kannapolis City systems at a luncheon to introduce them to the Cabarrus Regional Chamber and our member businesses. The Chamber also provides support for both school systems by supplying references for businesses to them and in helping to identify leaders of our business community who might visit schools when they are in need for professional experts in various fields.
We serve as a liaison between the schools, businesses and organizations within our community. We are proud to support all the efforts in the region to provide a superior workforce. |
